As It Stands…

January 19, 2010

This is what the painting looks like now. The background is starting to come together. There are some clear formations emerging. I think the choice of re-using an old canvas was the right one as the undertone of blue shows through a little, adding some depth. The highlights are coming through nicely and overall there is some good movement at play. The next step is to continue reinforcing the lights and darks and maybe diversify the palette with some yellows and oranges. Stand by.

Using the old canvas really turned out to be a great idea. Looking forward for the following chapters!

Hey thanks. Re-using canvases is always an option I consider but sometimes it turns out to be more of a hindrance than a help.

It’s cool following you as you complete this painting (And with you explaining what you’re doing). Interesting to see an artist at work.

Hey thanks, hope you stick around there will be plenty more to see. Do you run your blog all by yourself because it seems like a lot of content to manage!

Oh, it’s not as labor-intensive as it looks. And I have the blog only for fun, so it’s all good 🙂
